NU decides to drop NU Football Sunday evening at 7:30pm, Peter Roby held a football team meeting to announce the University's senior administration and Board of Trustees have accepted his recommendation to discontinue Northeastern's intercollegiate football program. Alumni and supporters of Friends of NU Football were taken by surprise by this decision. It is our opinion this is not a wise decision on behalf of the administration. Two years ago, many of you have expressed your support for the program and have given generously of your time and money. We have been consistently told the program has support by the adminsitration and Peter Roby has expressed to many of us that "NU Football will continue to be supported for the foreseeable future." I know many of you are dissapointed especially since you have provided donations since the beginning of October.
